Thank A Farmer® Magic Show

Do you like magic and learning things other people don’t know? Yes? Then you’ll love the Thank A Farmer Magic Show! Children of ALL ages are completely engaged while learning the important role agriculture and our farmers & ranchers play in their daily lives.

Presenter of the TAF Magic Show, Joyce Rice, comes from a six generation farm family. She attended Iowa State University on a full four year scholarship, graduating in Home Economics Education. In the field of entertainment, Joyce has performed literally around the world, as well as on numerous television shows including The Tonight Show with Jay Leno.

“Farmers and Ranchers are the most important producers in the world – – especially if you like to eat, wear clothes and live in a home.” Joyce is quick to add, “Everyone learns best while having fun and you’ll have fun at the Thank A Farmer Magic Show!”

The Cowboys and Kid’s Pee-Wee Stampede
The Cowboys & Kid’s Pee-Wee Stampede is a “hands-on” method of instilling cowboy ways to little city slickers ages 3 to 6. It is a “mock rodeo” complete with live music, stick horses, cowboy hats, chaps, stick bulls, rodeo numbers, trophies and ribbons.

Li’l Buckaroo Rodeo
One of the highlights of the Arizona National Livestock Show is our Li’l Buckaroo Rodeo where boys and girls ages 4 to 6 have the chance to compete like real cowboys and cowgirls. Watch these little buckaroos ride wild and woolly sheep across the arena in the hopes of winning the go-round and moving on to the finals.

Each day the top two of each age group are selected and then return to compete in the finals for the coveted title of Li’l Buckaroo Champion of their age group. Even though only one contestant goes home as champion, each contestant will go home with a prize for their courageous effort.

Entries open for this contest on December 27 and close one hour prior to the performance. Entry fee is $20 and must be paid in cash at the time of entry. A maximum of 40 entries will be accepted for December 29 and December 30 performances. Riders can weigh no more than 60 pounds and will be weighed just prior to riding. Entry fees are non-refundable. All contestant parents must sign a liability waiver. Entries taken at the ANLS Office beginning Dec. 27 and then entries will be taken at the Li’l Buckaroo Arena on December 29 from 11:00 a.m. – noon. Entries close at noon on December 29. If a contestant is selected as a finalist, they will return to ride in the Li’l Buckaroo Finals.

December 29 at 1:00 p.m.
December 30 at 1:00 p.m.
Finals are held December 31 at 1:00 p.m.

Class 2: Ages 6 -7
Class 3: Ages 8 – 9
Class 4: Ages 10 – 11
