The Arizona National Livestock Show is committd to preserving and honoring our livestock and ranch heritage. Several competitions during the Livestock Show focus on the Arizona's Ranching industry.

RANCH RODEO - 1:00 pm on Saturday December 29 and 1:00 pm on Sunday December 30 in the Grandstand Arena .

The two performance Ranch Rodeo is sanctioned by the Working Ranch Cowboys Association (WRCA). Ranch teams consist of of cowboys and cowgirls that work on the ranches they represent. Half of the teams compete at the first performance, the other half compete at the second performance. The winning team will be eligible to compete at the World Champion Ranch Rodeo in Amarillo. Events include Wild Cow Milking, Team Branding, Team Sorting, Team Doctoring and Bronc Riding. Members of the top placing teams are competing for $16,000 in prize money.

ARIZONA WORKING RANCH HORSE COMPETITION - 8:00 am on Saturday December 29 in the Grandstand Arena.

True working ranch horses from across Arizona demonstrate their athletic abilities maneuvering and handling cattle in the arena with the cowboy roping a steer and taking it through a gate. Entries in the invitational contest come from operating cattle ranches in Arizona. The horses are used in everyday work on the ranch ridden by a cowboy or cowgirl employed by the ranch. The rider of the Champion horse wins a $1,000 cash prize with the Reserve Champion winning a $500 cash prize.

ARIZONA COMMERCIAL REPLACEMENT HEIFER SALE - 12:30 pm on Sunday December 30 immediately south of the Grandstand Arena.

Pens of three replacement quality heifers from ranches across Arizona will compete for Champion and Reserve Champion Commercial Replacement Heifer Pen. Ranches raising replacement quality heifers have an opportunity to show off a sample of the sort ofheifers they raise with a chance to win $1,000 for the Grand Champion pen or $500 for the Reserve Campion pen. Ranchers looking for quality replacement heifers have an opportunity to see what sort of heifers are available from other ranches. All heifers are sold by auction as pens of three head.
