ARIZONA PIONEER STOCKMEN - The seeds were sown for the establishment of this organization in 1976 as a kick-off to America's Bicentennial celebration. As part of the celebration, the Arizona National Livestock Show and the Arizona State Cowbelles hosted a luncheon to recognize all men and women involved in the livestock industry that were born in the 19th century. The event was such a success, that the following year the Arizona Pioneer Stockmen organization was formally established and a worthy purpose was defined.
PURPOSE – To preserve and to record early Arizona Stockmen histories, and to support activities pertinent to members of the Pioneer Stockmen. To carry out this purpose, the Arizona National, in partnership with the Arizona State Cowbelles will compile and publish Ranch Histories.
MEMBERSHIP ELIGIBILITY – Any living Arizona resident, 75 years of age or older, that is, or has been, involved in the livestock business in the State of Arizona.
RANCH HISTORIES – Arizona Ranch Histories provide a legacy to all future generations by preserving the history of ranchers in Arizona who played a role in the settling of the west. The courage and perseverance of the ranchers is inspirational to readers as they begin to understand the strength of the pioneer spirit. Volumes are comprised of the real-life stories of pioneers, told in the words of the men and women who lived them. The first Volume of Ranch Histories was published in 1978. To date, twenty-five Volumes have been published.
Arizona National Livestock Show, Inc. is a non-profit 501(c)(3) corporation
