The Arizona National Livestock Show has presented an annual Show in the heart of downtown Phoenix since 1948. Each year nearly 2,000 of the nation's best cattle, horses, sheep and swine the Arizona State Fairgrounds to compete for over $70,000 in prize money and awards. The Livestock Show is one of the major public events in Arizona.

FFA and 4-H exhibitors compete in the Junior Divisions which include Market Steers, Lambs and Hogs, Breeding Heifers and Ewes, Arizona Prospect Steers, and Horses. Showmanship, Livestock Judging, Sheep Fitting, Public Speaking, and a poster competition provide Juniors a variety of additional competitive events to choose from.

The highlight of the Junior Show is our Junior Market Auction, where the top placing 135 market animals are offered for sale, giving these very worthy young men and women an opportunity to be financially rewarded for their hard work and accomplishments.

2010 Supreme Champion BullOpen Divisions include Breeding Cattle, Sun Classic Heifer, Feeder Steer and Breeding Sheep Shows. Open breeding cattle competition include breed shows for Angus, Brahman, Brangus, Hereford, Red Angus and Shorthorn breeds shows as well as an All Other Breeds show for Charolais, Gelbvieh, Limousin, Maine-Anjou, Salers and Simmental breeds with over over $40,000 in premiums offered.

The Arizona National Feeder Steer and Sun Classic Heifer Shows draw some of the nation's top project steers and heifers. Feeder Steers are shown in pens of 3 with classes also available for individual steers and heifers. After the judging these animals are offered for sale at auction as project calves to provide our junior exhibitors an opportunity to buy champion quality animals.

Open breeding sheep shows are offered for most major meat and wool breeds including Columbia, Corriedale, Cotswold, Rambouillet, Border Cheviot, Dorset, Hampshire, Oxford, Shropshire, Southdown, Suffolk. Other breeds are eligible to enter our Other Wool Breeds and Other Meat Breeds classes.
